Purposes and legal basis

• Professional verification — Akesia sells exclusively to healthcare professionals and businesses; verifying eligibility is a legal obligation in this context, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
• Security and abuse prevention — legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

VAT ID validation (VIES)

When a VAT identification number is provided, Akesia submits it to the European Commission’s VIES (VAT Information Exchange System) service to confirm it is valid. This is a direct lookup against the member state’s VAT registry; no profiling or automated decision with legal or similarly significant effect is performed as a result.

Processors

• Vercel— hosting for this website. Vercel is a US company; where personal data transits outside the EU, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.
• Supabase— database, authentication, and file storage, hosted in the eu-central-1 (Frankfurt) region.

Cookies and browser storage

This site uses only technically necessary browser storage: no analytics, no marketing cookies, and no third-party trackers. Because only technically necessary storage is used, no consent banner is shown. Details are listed on the cookie policy page.

Retention

Account data is retained for as long as the account is active and deleted upon a verified deletion request. Verification evidence is retained for as long as required to demonstrate compliance with professional-eligibility obligations.
